Snellville
The City of Snellville is one of Gwinnett’s quieter cities, but nonetheless still full of diverse things to do that everyone will love. The city has been around for decades and has loads of history behind it. Roughly around 1880, three men from London traveled overseas, looking for farm work, and eventually founded Snellville. This city’s population continues to grow and expand, along with its attractions. From nature parks to salt caves, the City of Snellville has a little something everyone would love!
Parks
Briscoe Park is one of Snellville’s most popular areas. There are many events and activities at this large park. There is a vast lake along with walking trails to take in the natural air. Along with the trails, this park also holds many sports fields for your children to enjoy their day! Nestled in the park is also a community garden for residents of Snellville to grow flowers, food, herbs, or whatever else your inner gardener is saying!
Activities
One unique location in Snellville is the Creekwater Alpaca Farm. Located in South Snellville, this farm sits on acres of land and holds many special animals including alpacas, goats, chickens and roosters, and many other surprises. You and your children can walk right up to the animals to feed them or just snap a picture! There is a shop that also offers locally homemade Alpaca fur creations such as socks, sweaters, and other accessories. This place is a must-visit if you are an animal lover!
If you are looking for a more relaxing afternoon, head over to the Saltville Grotto and Spa. This serene environment will be sure to soothe away the stress! They offer many different massages and packages to ensure a peaceful experience.
Each city in Gwinnett has its own version of a Farmers Market where local vendors bring their freshly grown fruits and veggies and sell them to intrigued locals. The City of Snellville Farmers Market is held every other Saturday at Briscoe Park. You can browse dozens of stands all offering diverse homemade foods from jellies and honey to pies and cakes. There is no better start to a day than enjoying the outdoors while also shopping for food!
Lilburn
Lilburn would be a great city to live in if you are looking for somewhere with lots of activities, yet still part of suburban Atlanta. Luckily, we live in a state where excellent schools and cities are prevalent. Lilburn is a safe, up-and-coming city that any person would love to live in! From restaurants to animal sanctuaries, Lilburn is full of fun activities to do of all sorts.
Downtown
Lilburn is home to a small downtown area consisting of just a few historic buildings. It is a great spot to spend a couple of hours learning about the history of the city. There are many local restaurants that are the perfect spots to enjoy dinner, while still being in the historic realm of Lilburn. Also, during the summer, on Friday you can visit the local Farmers Market. It is loaded with fresh fruits veggies and other natural foods. If you are looking for an all-day activity, the Yellow River Wildlife Sanctuary is great for kids and the family. It is local to Lilburn and has been around for decades. It is full of animals being rehabilitated and also has many animals to pet.
Like every city, Lilburn has lots of fun activities and events year-round that everyone would love. Lilburn City Park is located in central Lilburn and is complete with a large playground, trails alongside water, and many art sculptures to enjoy. Be sure to check their calendar to stay updated on all seasonal events and activities! Another must-visit park in Lilburn is Mountain Park Park. There is a lake, wooded trails, and many sports fields and pavilions. These parks are perfect for a peaceful nature day, or an exciting sports-filled game day.
Grayson
Located northeast of Atlanta, Grayson is a hidden gem. From parks to museums, to Breweries, Grayson has a little something that everyone would love! If you are questioning how to spend your day, look no further and embrace this wonderful city!

Vines Park is a one-of-a-kind property that looks straight out of a fantasy! The property holds a 1900s estate and acres of beautiful gardens. You can easily make a day out of exploring the grounds. The gardens consist of greenery, vibrant flowers, and extraordinary statues scattered around the property. The estate itself doubles as a museum and a wedding venue. If you enjoy scenery and museums, this is a must-see!
Tribble Mill Park is located in East Grayson and is sitting on a whopping 713 acres of land! This park is full of things to do suited for the whole family, or just a solo day enjoying the outdoors. There is a fishing lake with a boat ramp, and several hiking trails. You can either hike a 3.4-mile paved trail or go on a longer unpaved trail for a more hiking-esque experience.
These are just a few of the great cities that Gwinnett has to offer. Snellville, Lilburn, & Grayson are underrated areas that do not get enough praise!
