Gwinnett County: Pandemic Friendly Upcoming Events

To say this past year has been boring would be an understatement! Most people were quarantining themselves without any contact with others for weeks. Everything was closed, and there was nothing to do. A year later, and the pandemic is still prevalent, but calming down; which means businesses are opening back up, and people are finally ready to get back out there. Gwinnett is finally planning some exciting and fun events for the upcoming year!

To help you keep your days busy, we have put together a list of some local events and activities upcoming in Gwinnett County! Make sure you are still following all the safety precautions but also make sure to have a good time!

Lilburn:

Event: Rock The Park

Date & Location: June 4th at Lilburn City Park

Why you should go: Bring in the warm summer weather with this outside concert! A Fleetwood Mac cover band will be performing alongside food vendors and trucks! Spend your evening outside enjoying some live music and authentic food and drinks!

Event: Food Truck Tuesdays

Date & Location: 2nd Tuesday of the month during May-October at Lilburn City Park

Why you should go: Dig out your lawn chairs and blankets to appreciate some live music and food trucks while sitting outside on the lawn! Bring some friends or your family along for a night full of music and diverse foods!

Event: Lilburn Daze

Date & Location: October 9th at Lilburn City Park

Why you should go: This would be the 48th Annual Lilburn Daze if the pandemic allows! Join the city as you shop homemade crafted items, eat at food trucks and vendors, play on the inflatables and at the children’s activities, and drink with your friends! From children’s games to unique arts and crafts, this would be a fun day for the whole family!

Lawrenceville:

Event: Bacon Fest and Fun Run

Date & Location: March 27th at 210 Luckie Street Lawrenceville GA, 30046

Why you should go: This is the first Bacon Fest & Fun Run in all of Gwinnett! There will be, you guessed it, lots of BACON!!! Vendors will also have many different BBQ dishes and beers to try from! Make sure to come hungry and enter into the Bacon eating contest to win fun prizes!

Event: Arts & Crafts Festival

Date & Location: April 10th at the Oakland Community Garden

Why you should go: Who doesn’t love homemade arts and crafts? This event will have 30+ vendors bringing their beautifully unique items to sell to the residents of Lawrenceville! Go out and support your local artists!

Event: 4Paw Agility Dog Show

Date & Location: June 17th at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds

Why you should go: This event is for dog lovers! Spend your day watching athletic pups jump and run and dodge and show off their skills! If you believe your dog has what it takes, register them to perform in the show for a chance at the winning prize!

Snellville:

Event: Farmers Market

Date & Location: Every other Saturday through May at the Towne Greene in front of City Hall

Why you should go: There is no better start to the day than bringing home some fresh fruits and veggies for a big breakfast! Head over to the Farmers Market to pick up local jellies and other naturally grown foods and treats!

Event: Lucky Dog 5k

Date & Location: April 10th at Leonora Park

Why you should go: This event is all about animal rescue! The 5k run is supporting the Jack Russel Rescue and after your run, there will be an opportunity to meet up with some of the pups and potentially leave with a new member of the family!

Grayson:

Event: Finding Balance: Chakra Workshop

Date & Location: April 25th at the Wellness Studio at ProMotion

Why you should go: This past year has not been easy on anyone and needless to say, everyone could use some relaxation and wellness time! This Workshop is determined to balance your chakras to leave you feeling calm and centered.

Event: Grayson Days & 5K

Date & Location: April 24th at Main Street and Community Park

Why you should go: This City celebration is one you don’t want to miss! Begin your day watching the parade filled with local floats and businesses in your city! You can then walk around and shop the handmade accessories or grab a bite to eat at one of the many food vendors! Finish your day with some live music and a cocktail or two!

Event: Grayson Blues and Brews

Date & Location: Undecided date in October at the Grayson Community Park

Why you should go: Who doesn’t love live music and craft beer? Join the community in trying different beers and enjoying the fall weather with some local bands in the background!

Dacula:

Event: Miss Dacula Pageant

Date & Location: May 1st

Why you should go: Spend your day supporting talented young ladies show off their skills and beauty in the Miss Dacula Pageant! This Pageant gives girls the opportunity to build their confidence and also the chance to win scholarships to further their education!

Event: Dancing and Donuts with Mom

Date & Location: May 1st at Georgia Dance Unlimited

Why you should go: As a parent, you know your children won’t stay small forever, so a mommy-and-me dance class is a perfect memory that will stay with both of you permanently!

Event: Dacula Park Sports

Date & Location: All Summer Long at Dacula Park

Why you should go: This park is full of pavilions, sports fields, and walking trails! Make sure to stay updated on their website to not miss any sports events, games, or children’s activities!
