Summer is in full bloom and with the pandemic slowly coming to an end, local cities are beginning to host more and more events for you and your family! Throughout Gwinnett County, there are events and activities for everyone to love! Read on to find a fun way to spend your next weekend in Gwinnett County!

For the Kids and Family:

7/28: Sprinkler Day- Lilburn City Park: 10 am- 12 pm

Bring your kiddos over to Lilburn City Park for a fun-filled morning of playing in the fountains! There is no better way to start a hot day than cooling off and having a good time in the water! Head over to downtown Lilburn for a great lunch to finish the afternoon!

7/30: Feature Friday- Lawrenceville Lawn: 7 pm-10 pm

Enjoy an evening under the stars in the park while watching an outdoor movie with the family! gwinnett countyThe City of Lawrenceville is showing “School of Rock” this Friday so be sure not to miss it! Bring some lawn chairs or a blanket, some movie snacks, and your night will be complete!

8/13: Movie in the Park- Grayson City Ampavillion- 8 pm- 10 pm

Bring the whole family out for this outdoor showing of “Cars”! The movie starts at dusk, so it is an ideal movie-watching time! Bring popcorn, dinner, whatever you need for the perfect movie night!

Live Music:

8/21: Live on the Lawn- Lawrenceville Towne Greene: 6 pm-10 pm

If you love Country music and the outdoors, head over to the Lawrenceville Town Greene for a Zac Brown Band Tribute Band Concert by 20 Ride! Bring a lawn chair or blanket, some dinner, and enjoy great live music!

8/28: Jazz Concert-Grayson City Ampavillion: 7 pm

Jazz music is soothing to the soul, and always makes for a nice night! Go give the local band Lanier Jazz a listen in Grayson this Saturday evening! The warm weather and comforting music will be the perfect way to spend your weekend night!

9/18: Live on the Greene- Snellville Tourism and Trade: 7 pm

If you were a fan of Prince, this is the show not to miss out on! The Purple Madness is a Tribute band of Prince and puts on an immaculate show honoring a great artist! It is encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket for the show! Also please note, it is recommended by the City of Snellville to stay 6 feet apart so keep in mind when setting up the perfect spot to watch the show!

Outdoor Events:

7/28: Zumba on the Lawn- Lawrenceville Lawn: 6 pm-7:30 pm

If you want to get your blood flowing in the open outdoor air, this is the perfect event for you! Head over to Downtown Lawrenceville to spend your night in a free Zumba class with special guest instructors! With the class finishing right at dusk, the sky will illuminate your class with the colors of the Lawrenceville sunset!

7/31-8/1: Creekwater Alpacas Barn Tours- Creekwater Alpaca Farm: 11am-5pm

Calling animal lovers! There is an alpaca farm located in Snellville that hosts barn tours, that let you tour the farm, and see the animals! Their farm features many alpacas, goats, chickens, roosters, and many other animals! Head over to Snellville for a fun-filled day with animals!

7/31: Christmas in July- Grayson Community Park: 10 am-4 pmgwinnett county

Who says you can’t listen to Christmas music in July? If you want to ask Santa for presents early this year, visit Grayson for a holiday celebration! Enjoy music, handmade crafts and gifts, and activities for the kids! Bring the whole family out for this festive bash!

8/22: Fall Cornhole League Season Begins- Buffalos Café Hamilton Mill: 2 pm-4 pm

Is Cornhole the sport for you? Grab a team together and register for the upcoming Fall season! Spend your Sundays through October building your skill! Aim for the Championship and play against the best of the best! Registration for the Fall cornhole league closes 8/15 so be sure to make your team and sign up!

For and With the Community:

7/30, 8/3-8/4: American Red Cross Blood Drive- Grayson Senior Center: 10 am-3 pm

As the Country recovers from this pandemic, one aspect still struggling is blood donations. Help American Red Cross help millions of people by donating blood this weekend! All blood types are welcome and appreciated!

7/31: Gwinnett County Health Fair- Rhodes Jordan Park: 10 am-2 pm

Take charge of your health this season and head over to this public and free event hosted by Live Healthy Gwinnett! Visit vendors and booths to ask any questions or get a quick health screening! Bring the whole family to ensure everyone is safe and learning about current health procedures and how to stay happy and healthy!

10/18: Charity Cup Golf Tournament & Ministry Fundraiser- Hamilton Mill Golf Club: 8 am-3:30 pm

Hamilton Mill Golf Club is hosting their 11th annual Charity Cup Golf Tournament and fundraiser this year in October. Head over and pay a few rounds of golf while also donating to your local ministry, and be entered into raffles to win a handful of prizes, including cash!

Food:

7/28: Picnics in the Plaza- Lawrenceville Bicentennial Plaza: 12 pm-1 pm

Head to Downtown Lawrenceville, visit one of the many great restaurants, and enjoy some lunch on the community town lawn! Bring friends and family and relish in the great food of Lawrenceville, while enjoying the fresh air! Stop by Dominick’s for some yummy pasta, or head to Foggy Bottom BBQ for a delicious pulled pork sandwich! The options are endless!

8/9: Food Truck Tuesdays- Lilburn City Park: 6 pm-9 pm

Every 2nd Tuesday of the month until October, head over to Downtown Lilburn for some food truck fun! Choose from many different options to eat, then enjoy some live music and activities on the Lawn! The hardest decision of the night will be if you want savory seafood, or if the donut truck will pull you in!

7/31, 8/7: Snellville Farmers Market- Snellville Towne Green: 8:30 am- 12:30 pm

Every Saturday through the end of September, start your weekend by picking out fresh fruits and veggies from our local vendors and farmers! Enjoy the early morning air accompanied by fresh coffee and fresh-baked goods. Choose from fruits and veggies, meats, fish, spices, honey, snacks, and many more natural goodies!
